The castle is the guardian spirit for the town of Scilla, about 20 km north of Reggio Calabria, and is certainly one of the most characteristic and typical elements of the Messina Strait and the Reggio Calabria landscape areas. The castle also houses one of the Navy’s lighthouses, the Scilla Lighthouse.
